Site or Service Names that Contain an Underscore

In a SVCMON point’s configuration record, the Facility property of the point is set to the Site or Site.Service on which the monitoring is based. Because a period is not a valid character for a facility name, the CygNet ServiceMon Administration utility replaces the period in Site.Service with an underscore. The General Data Field 1 property on the Application page shows the name in its original form, that is, with a period.

Keep this in mind if editing or creating SVCMON points without using the utility. For example, if the Site.Service is MYSITE_2.RSM, the Facility property must contain MYSITE_2_RSM and the General Data Field 1 must contain MYSITE_2.RSM.
